More About This Website

This blog follows our travels to and throughout Mexico. We finished our final school year in June, 2007 and retired.   July through October we lived in our Bigfoot Camper or on our Capri 26 sailboat full mOOn on Camanche Lake. We departed Northern California on November 7th, 2007 after the much anticipated wedding of our son, Micah and his fabulous lady, Kim.  Ken, Kris, and Duffie, the Wonder Westie, have travelled extensively in our Bigfoot Camper which is equipped with satellite internet which allows us to maintain this blog on a regular (or semi-regular) basis.  Bookmark this site and share in our adventure.

Good start to the New Year

by Kris

We go to bed early New Years Eve so we have a running start at the annual New Year's Day gathering of sailors and other kindred spirits at the home of Folsom Lake Yacht clubbers, Dave and Lanette. They graciously welcome many friends with good humor, incredibly delicious food, free-flowing champagne and excellent California wines.

We don't see most of these people except for this one yearly event; certainly not because we don't value the friendships; like these people we are busy with family and other obligations. Once a year it's fun to reminisce about sailing experiences of the past 16 years and catch up on current happenings. It's sad that we're getting to the point when we have to remind each other of fun times...getting old sucks! But as long as one of us remembers, the stories will survive.

We would have to be out of the country to miss this party - and that reminds us we have no idea where we'll be next year at this time.

That's exciting.

Hi Kris and Ken,

I am enjoying your blog. You have a gift of writing Kris. Maybe a novel is in your future??
I am sad that these next few months will fly by and you'll be gone from Casa, never to return. I want to start planning a BIG send-off party for you and the other 2 retirees.
Enjoy these last few days off. Hope that bathroom remodel is coming along.
