More About This Website

This blog follows our travels to and throughout Mexico. We finished our final school year in June, 2007 and retired.   July through October we lived in our Bigfoot Camper or on our Capri 26 sailboat full mOOn on Camanche Lake. We departed Northern California on November 7th, 2007 after the much anticipated wedding of our son, Micah and his fabulous lady, Kim.  Ken, Kris, and Duffie, the Wonder Westie, have travelled extensively in our Bigfoot Camper which is equipped with satellite internet which allows us to maintain this blog on a regular (or semi-regular) basis.  Bookmark this site and share in our adventure.

Brrrrrrrrrr

by Kris

Yikes, it's cold. Orangevale, California cold isn't in the same record book as Fargo, North Dakota cold but our current weather is way below our winter average. This morning it was 25 degrees and to prove it we had a thin layer of ice on the swimming pool! My beloved pool where I spend many wonderful hours playing with the kids; the same pool where I experience one of my life's pleasures of laying on an air mattress while listening to Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper announce San Francisco Giants games. It's just not right to turn my pool into an ice rink.

Ken and I have occasional twinges of Seasonal Affective Disorder aka SAD which translates to we're sad it's not summer. This winter we're too busy with planning and projects to have time for being depressed or tired or sick. This cold snap though has taken it's toll, we're housebound unless we're out grabbing firewood or covering/uncovering tender plants. We've also watched more football than the whole rest of the season; though Ken is watching with his eyes closed  during a much deserved snooze on the couch with Duffie. It's Sunday, the day of rest from pre-tile work in the bathroom.

I'll toss another log on the fire and join them. Stay warm and be happy!
