Capri-26 And sew on...

Much as it pains me to admit it -- summer's gone. Mixed with the still warm and sunny days are clouds and rain showers. Duffie and I take our morning walks a litttle later and my shorts have been replaced with longer and warmer leggings. The rain is welcome as our lake level is lower than low and early storms bode well for the season. The November wedding of our house-sitting kids, Kim and Micah, is approaching and then we're off to Mexico. It's amazing to think we've been out of our home nearly 4 months. We've been quite comfortable in our other homes; the Capri 26 sailboat, full mOOn; and the Bigfoot camper with pproximately 200 sq feet combined (including the cockpit and deck areas.) People ask if we miss our home and the answer is no. As much as we enjoy our home we're very happy and comfortable with our new lifestyle. If we were retired and living at home we'd be working around the house and in the yard, and watching hdtv probably too much. As it is, we're preparing the boat for winter on the trailer. Ken's designed and sewn a custom fitted cover for the cabin top of the boat.
Ken's successful seamstering last summer of our bimini with the Sailrite kit and the leftover Sunbrella material inspired this latest project. Nicely done, babe!

There will be less worry with full mOOn on the hard instead of weathering storms in the slip. As excited as we are about the next chapter of our lives South of the Border, we're already looking forward to spring-time at Lake Camanche.
