More About This Website

This blog follows our travels to and throughout Mexico. We finished our final school year in June, 2007 and retired.   July through October we lived in our Bigfoot Camper or on our Capri 26 sailboat full mOOn on Camanche Lake. We departed Northern California on November 7th, 2007 after the much anticipated wedding of our son, Micah and his fabulous lady, Kim.  Ken, Kris, and Duffie, the Wonder Westie, have travelled extensively in our Bigfoot Camper which is equipped with satellite internet which allows us to maintain this blog on a regular (or semi-regular) basis.  Bookmark this site and share in our adventure.

Double take

by Kris

It's said that everyone has a double somewhere in the world. This evidently applies to animals as well.  Ken and I walked to the mineral pool at Roca Azul the other day and a very familiar looking white paw reached out to us from a chair.

Cleo, is that you?

Not content with a pat on the head he followed us to the pool, climbed onto my lounge-chair, and settled in to continue his cat-nap. Exactly like our Cleo at home.

It was a little weird to spend an afternoon with "our cat" who's not really our cat. It was also good that Duffie was taking his own version of a cat nap in the camper. I doubt that Cleo 2 would appreciate or put up with being dragged around with his head in Duff's mouth. Or being mounted...ok, Duffie's a bit kinky - but hey it's an animal thing.

We enjoyed the company of our new feline friend and he seemed to enjoy our attention as well. We (humans) talked about the amazing travels of animals - i.e. our neighbors moved out of town and their cat came back to our neighborhood (NO, they didn't drive by and drop him off) - but we decided Cleo already has a pretty good life at home with his mama, Sailor, so he's not motivated to make a life changing move out of the yard.

The most amazing thing was later the same day our house-sitting daughter-in-law, Kim, sent a picture of our cats to say "hi from the kids."

 Life is fun and funny.
