Oh Lord, stuck in Lodi again

Just kidding! We love visiting the Lodi area spending time with Ken's parents, the ever hospitable Sam and Clara. We've been here since Saturday (7/14) afternoon just prior to the arrival of Ken's sister, Liz, her husband Norman, and youngest daughter, Katie, from Georgia. It's like a mini-family reunion. We even coerced Sam and Clara into a search for the the old 8mm movie projector, screen, and reels of family videos for a wonderful evening of entertainment. I LOVE old family movies. Of any family. There's a familiarity of the times of our lives that's comforting and certainly amusing.
I've definitely been remiss in my blogging duties. I have excuses (about the only things I haven't misplaced) -- we've been really busy and we had a problem with the modem for our satellite dish that required delivery of a new modem. We're on-line now and I shall try to explain what's transpired since the last posting. I have notes - somewhere. Our transition from home to camper is un-like our previous summer trips. This time we packed the camper as we packed up the house for however long we're gone and I think we over-packed knowing we wouldn't be at home when we leave for Mexico. I KNOW we over-packed....as proof we're constantly looking for things packed in the all encompassing place known as "somewhere." Just this morning we've looked for three items to no avail. Fortunately our search didn't involve a fire extinguisher. In addition to our storage room at home and the camper, we've taken a lot of things to the boat so undoubtedly that's where we'll find my missing tevas and the Blockbuster dvd we need to return.
During all this hard work and frustration (HA!) we've had more than our share of good times -- particularly when we have the opportunity to entertain guests on the boat. From the ambiance of the marina, to the upwind sail with as much tugging on lines and tiller time as our friends desire, to the downwind spinnaker run to a sunset anchorage and a pre and post dinner swim, we enjoy sharing our life and good times aboard full moon.
I'll write more later to fill in the gaps but I don't want to miss Sam's ignition of the bbque - the first step of preparation for tonight's feast of "Man Meat" per the original Southern brisket recipe of Georgia native and all-around great guy, Norman.
We're a gathering of foodies who plan lunch and dinner while eating breakfast. I married into the right family.
